Reading is Fundamental! I learned that from tv!

Here I go, blatantly stealing again. This is a concept that I found out about from my pal Catie's book page. She found out about it from her friend, and so on, and so on, and so on.

At any rate, the concept is that you list the books, magazines and other things that you've read. I don't read as much as, well, a lot of people that I know. I do, however, read occasionally. I'm one of those sorts that generally have seven or eight things going at once. Reading doesn't always take priority. But I do read.

And listed below are the books and plays and short stories (yes, I do read If you have books you think I ought to try, feel free to drop me a line.

December 2005
Sailing to Sarantium, Guy Gavriel Kay -- 12.08.05 A (Not an A+, just because it took some time to get into the rhythm of things, but it finishes on a note that makes me go 'auugh, must read Lord of Emperors now to find out who!' But I have far too many other books to read first. Still. Read it. If you like Kay, you'll enjoy it.)

October 2005
(Somewhere between now and April I read The Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass, who is a big name overseas and who is making her mark here now. I'd give it a B+. Huge, sweeping world and storyline, a set up for the big bad evil, and hey, how can you help but like people with wings?)

April 2005
Blood In, Blood Out, Lucien Soulban -- 04.30.05 C (Another WoD vampire book. Not as good as the first one. It had its moments, but, mostly eh. Not sure I'll read more of these, as my To Be Read pile is out of control.
A Hunger Like Fire, Greg Stolze -- 04.01.05 A+ (I admit, I grabbed this because I'm trying to enter a contest and I wasn't expecting it to be very good. Boy, was I wrong. If you like vampire stuff and/or the WoD, check this out.)

March 2005
Deerskin, Robin McKinley -- 03.17.05 C+ (I'm ... still not exactly sure what to think about this one. Starts off as a fairly typical fantasy. Gets *very* strange and then there's mental talking and fire-versions of the princess and ... odd.)

February 2005
Lord of Snow and Shadows, Sarah Ash -- 02.24.05 A (I'm only sorry this took me this long to finish. This is a book I literally carried around with me, just to snatch the time to read a couple of paragraphs out. She has a sequel. Read!)

January 2005
Trust No One, Barbara Phinney -- 01.29.05 INC ("Heat surged into her breasts, filling them to overflowing before pouring its molten honey into the empty mold of her womanhood." Need I say more?)
The Wizard's Ward, Deborah Hale -- 01.27.05 INC (As Catie and I have discussed, this is probably a good crossover book into fantasy for those who are used to romance. It was just too predictable for me to finish.)
So Sure of Death, Dana Stabenow -- 01.20.05 A (I'm on a good run of books, I guess. The second in the Liam Campbell series. I like him, I like Wy, and I want to read more. Go get 'em.)
Fathers and Other Strangers, Karen Templeton -- 01.12.05 A (I love her books. They're romantic suspenses that are more like stress at home than spies and soldiers. Beautiful.)
Over Sea, Under Stone, Susan Cooper -- 01.05.05 A (I could have sworn I read these books, but I don't think I ever did. Catie raves about them, as do other newer friends, so, I'll work through them. Loved the first installment.

When?
Why?

To keep my friends and family up to date. To entertain myself. Because I can. Do I need better reasons?

What?
How?

I modified it, but the basic design is hers.
